DELIMITED SPACE originated as a necessity to look into the concept of EXCLUSION.
The word DELIMIT comes from the Latin word delimitare : de- ‘down’ + limitare ‘boundary’.
The need to delimit a space is intimately linked to possesion. Their territory, their place.
This view, use and delimitation of the space, still produces problems: fights for possession, colonisation, and invasions. Constant violation of delimited spaces, both public and private.
The conceptual core of DELIMITED SPACE, and its action, serves the challenge to emphasise this delimitation by intervening with the public space.
The project aims to create a dialogue between the space and the public, for them to identify and acknowledge its existence. Especially for those who make use of that space: walking, sitting, resting, or simply passing through it to get to their destination. The idea of EXCLUSION is materialised in the delimitation itself.
